Grafitti

I took the kids to Bald Mountain State Park yesterday and we ended up in this amazing part of the Paint Creek Trail where everything is covered in graffiti. I should be upset that this beautiful natural area is "ruined" but I am not. I find it even more beautiful.

I envision a fashion shoot here at some time.

With these mixed sepia/color shots I wanted to leave the natural as sepia toned and the man made as color. It's sort of an old vs. new theme as well as playing with what is perceived as the more beautiful part.

Generations Photos

Got to see my cousin, his wife, and their baby this past weekend. It was a really special get together because my grandma was there who is 90 years old. It was her first time meeting her great grandson. My cousin grew up in California so I have only seen him a handful of times. I tried to take photos in an editorial style. The one above is my nephew, Xander. There is a playfulness and a seriousness to this photo that I just love.

House Photos

Some of the recent houses I have shot. These are from all different houses.

I just loved this house and the artwork. Each room had delightful surprises like an upstairs balcony that you wouldn't expect or an extra room to be used as a studio.

This is a historical mansion that has been divided into condos.

This is Poppleton Park near the mansion that I was asked to shoot as well.

I had a vision of a comic book layout. Not sure on the storyline here.

Detroit Artist's Market Garden Party 2010

Every year the Detroit Artist's Market hosts a Garden Party for all of it's members at a house in Grosse Pointe Farms. It's a lovely event with art and jewelry for sale, wine, and amazing food. Gotta say, this has been an awesome week! My friend Veronica came as my guest and we mingled, ate, and admired a lot of great art.

A big tent was set up next to the gorgeous house with tables full of art pieces.

Musicians were playing great music.

After the garden party we spent the evening in Royal Oak with our friend, Claudia. I took some great night shots from the top of the parking garage and we had a great time shopping and chatting.
