Some days in the world can be ugly and difficult, isn't it refreshing and nice to have a beautiful refuge to retreat to at Home! To restore yourself, to have something to smile about even on the most difficult or sorrowful of days when things may come against you one right after another.
Even though the chandeliers may need dusting and aren't as sparkly as they could be *wink*, perhaps a few bulbs are missing... they still shed beautiful light to each room, even during periods of darkness.
The whimsy of toys against a backdrop of antiques can make me smile even on the toughest of days... a row of tiny Bunnies lined up... a toy Jeep full of tiny Kittens, Puppies and Dinosaurs taking a ride around the candlesticks together. *Smiles*
A big squishy down filled chair and pillows to plop down in at the end of a tough or tiring day. A deep cast iron clawfoot tub to soak your weary body in... in the great outdoors no less because an outdoor tub room being added on to this ole' House on our acreage was a fantasy become reality! Bathing under the stars or in the sunshine, does it get any better than that?! *wink* Granted it's in the initial stages so for now the Grandchildren are enjoying it more often than I... but when it's complete... Valhalla!!!
Yes, being surrounded by the beauty of our Home, escaping to a good book, the comfort and the safety of our personal Sanctuary, makes even the ugliest of days tolerable and can insulate us somewhat from whatever unpleasantness may be out there outside of our abodes.
So, even if you're having 'one of those days', being able to retreat to your beautiful refuge is a Blessing... so may you continue to feather your nests with those things that continue to make you smile, be at Peace, have rest, radiate happiness and Joy, fond memories and restore the body, mind, Spirit and Soul each day... the good days and particularly the not-so-good days. And stay up by Faith and know that it will hold... Dawn... The Bohemian
