I personally think that most painted China is still one of the best deals around when it comes to Vintage and Antique miniature works of Art.  Seriously, the quality of Artistic talent displayed on most of these pieces is pretty amazing and given the secondhand prices it can be acquired at, where else could you obtain a beautiful display worthy work of Art at those kind of bargain prices?   And many pieces are still useful and functional if you choose for them to be and don't just intend to use for display, so where else does Art and function meld so beautifully to serve dual purpose in your Home?  You can amass fairly impressive "collections" of such items at a modest investment that can serve almost any budget.   Whether you choose a Teacup Collection, Salt and Pepper Shakers, Plates... or a more eclectic Collection of painted China you can still pick up pieces at remarkable prices and indulge yourself more often than most Collectibles and Antiques, so it can be a lot of fun with little or no guilt.  Vignettes with China always dress up a space and the variety of Art on pieces makes them as versatile for decorating as any other works of Art. They are also pieces that can dress up Gift Baskets in a most charming way... I can't tell you how many times I've created a Gift Basket and tucked in a few pieces of painted China that wow the recipient.   Does a Loved one enjoy Teas... how about adding a few beautiful Vintage Teacups and Saucers with the Tea and Biscuit Basket.   I've used mismatched painted orphan Antique Teacups and Creamers to contain delightfully scented Candles or sweet treats.   How about a Vintage floral painted China Vase to present that special bouquet of fresh flowers in or even that single Rose?  I've made Spa Baskets and tucked in Romantic painted China pieces.   Bake or buy some fresh confections and present them on a lone piece of Antique painted China that the recipient can keep and see how very special that person feels.   Almost any little Girl *and some big Girls too* enjoy Tea Parties... and if you've acquired the pieces at a bargain you can create the most delightful table settings to Host a decadent looking Party for any age group without worrying about mishaps... my Grandchildren particularly adore Demitasse size Teacups... and how much more charming if you can find some outrageously fussy Vintage Hats and Millinery to go totally Mad Hatter and take a plunge down the Rabbit Hole! *wink*  Yes... painted China uses is limited only by your imagination... and IMO is still one of the best deals around for miniature works of Art...
