We continue on with the Desert Botanical Garden's Dia de los Muertos Altars Exhibit and in today's Post I'm sharing images of four of the Altars. Altar #1 really resonated with me and I Loved everything about it. I see it as Celebrating and paying Homage to the Unity of Marriage and the Love of a Beloved Spouse, which even Death cannot break the bond of.
Altar #2 appeared to pay Homage to the Natural World, the Plants and Creatures, the Cycle of Life.
I must confess... that since Princess T was with me and at 6 years old she was not patient enough to read the Stories behind the Creation of each Altar, we came away with mostly the visuals and our Imaginations as to what each spoke to us about in the Images and content of each Altar.
And I suppose that is why I enjoy and have a Passion for Altars. Each tells a Story of the Heart & Spirit of whoever Created it. Each piece placed upon an Altar is significant to the Story... what or who the Altar pays Homage to... and what has been Sacrificial in the Offerings made. It also represents something significant to who has Created and Designed the structure
because it is deeply Personal and Spiritual in nature. And therein is where I find the distinct Beauty of an Altar as I have the privilege to look into the Heart, Spirituality and Soul of those it is connected to and what is deeply meaningful to them enough to erect an Altar.
Tomorrow's Post will conclude the Tour of the Altar Exhibit... but there's more Celebration to come!
