Sunday was a very special event in downtown Royal Oak: Ambush Runway! I was honored to wear one of Matthew Richmond's amazing creations. All his dresses are made out of recycled materials: magazines, newspapers, and grocery store bags. I loved hearing him refer to each one with names like "The Real Detroit Dress" and "The Metro Times Dress." Each one is totally unique.

All the models started at Aveda salon and had our makeup and hair done before we were taped and spray glued into our dresses. Once we were in our dresses there was no sitting or sudden movements! We started with a photo shoot then we strutted down a runway while being video taped. Then it was Ambush time! We walked the streets of Royal Oak and Matthew would call our our code word, "Recycle" and we would strike a pose while the cameras went nuts. It was so much fun! Above we posed in the middle of the street, holding up traffic while people in their cars snapped photos with their phones. We also stopped on the railroad tracks and took pics. When we got back to Aveda we did some really sweet group shots and then more individual shots. I cannot wait to see the rest of the photography! It was a strange feeling being the model instead of the photographer but super fun too.

I loved my dress!!

Loved the shoes too!
