The beautiful and talented Jennifer Vermeersch had a trunk show for her incredible jewelry at Rouge Makeup and Nail Salon in Ferndale last week. I'd admired her jewelry every time I'd been in Rouge but for the trunk show she brought so many pieces I'd never seen before. They were breathtaking.

I asked Jennifer about her creative process and she said that she starts with one section or idea and it grows from there. Her pieces combine colorful beads, delicate metals and beading, and skilled soldering, sometimes giving an almost tribal look. Some of my favorite pieces are the ones that come around the neck, then have a strip of beads and metal that line down the center of the body and end with a belt! Incredible.
